Hello Final 6!!!
Another tough week for us judges. Here are the photos for this week
Emma: The theme was Haute Couture. That means it's all about the dress. That is, the dress I can see nothing of apart from the chest straps on black leather. It's a striking picture, but we can't see a thing.
Jensen: The photo overall is definitely Haute Couture, but the dress is not visible, sorry doll.
Joan: Without a doubt this is a high fashion photo. Very editorial and edgy. My problem with this photo is that there is so much going on that I can’t really make out your dress. From what I do see the outfit is a bit plain. It’s not an awful photo overall. But what is going to hurt you this round is the other girls are submitting these gorgeous haute couture dresses so when we rank, you fall below the pack.
Shraddha: This is definitely high fashion. I really love how edgy you look this week. I love the upper half of your dress. It's very interesting. Yeah, I wish you could see everything but overall, this is great.
Emma: That face is near flawless, Jennifer. I had to double check that was your body. On to the picture. While I usually love high contrast black and white, I am not loving it here. The dress is great, it's haute couture, but I can hardly see it. I would have loved to see the colours of the dress, your make up, jewellery. I would totally be in love. On to your pose though, you're missing an arm, and moving them up to the waist would have brought this catalogue pose into couture.
Jensen: WOW It is hard to see the dress but just WOW
Joan: WOW! Everything about this photo is flawless. The pose, expression and dress perfect! I actually love the black and white effect in this photo. It adds a lot more than it would have been in color in my opinion. The shoulders really add a lot to this photo and prevented this dress from being basic. I love the Angelina Jolie leg as well. This is one of my favorites.
Shraddha: I have to agree with Emma. I feel like this photo might be better if it's in color. But I think your pose is gorgeous. Very confident. As for your couture, I think it's beautiful but I felt like it was a little bit too safe.
Shraddha: I love the couture so much, Laura. The details on the dress is really beautiful. And the setting made it stand out more. Maybe you can do something with the pose cause you kinda look stiff here. But overall, I think this is amazing. Gorgeous.
Joan: Stunning dress! I love the styling you have here. There are parts I like and don’t like about your pose. I love how you are showcasing the dress which is very important for a photoshoot like this. However, it does come off a bit stiff. I think you could have done more with your face to avoid the stiffness. The background looks like my backyard rather than some high fashion setting. Overall, you nailed it with the dress and I think this is a solid photo. Good job!
Emma: I see what the Shraddha and Joan are saying about it looking stiff. But I don't think it's in a bad way here. Stiffness usually translates to being uncomfortable, but here it looks natural and comfortable. It may not be couture, but it's not stiff. Your face and hair is gorgeous and that dress is breathtaking.
Jensen: I love this.
Emma: The size is fine, so don't worry. On to the contents of your picture: The dress - It's not really what I'd call haute couture. All it really is is a maxi-dress with a jacket, but you're working it. Your face is gorgeous, but I suspect you will be getting some comments about the sun in the background.
Jensen: I love the outfit but yea that sun is distracting.
Joan: I am not too sure about this photo. If it wasn’t for the dress flowing up I would call this photo very basic. The dress doesn’t really stand or pop out to me. When I think of haute couture I think of a photo overall to be bold. This photo lacks the boldness factor. The pose is a bit slouched as well.
Shraddha: I like this. I love how long your legs in this photo. And the modelling content in this photo is very strong. I think the adding of that flowing thing (is it a jacket?) was really a good choice. Overall, I think this is very solid.
Shraddha: Very interesting choice of couture. I love the way you presented it. But the pose looked a little bit awkward to me. I love how soft your expression this week. Very different from what we saw before from you. Great job, Nicki
Emma: Work that maxi-dress, Nicki. Work it with that glorious couture hairstyle of yours. As I said, though, the dress is a layered maxi-dress, and not a couture gown. Your hair is excellent though, and you are selling the dress so well, and for once your face is 110% on point. However, still the point remains. Maxi-dress.
Jensen: I like this. The pose and styling makes this look Haute Couture, but yea, it's not.
Joan: The photo itself is very stunning, especially at first glance. The dress is not the typical haute couture we look for in this shoot. But you were able to turn a simple dress into something great. Your pose and the hand lifting up the dress, showcasing the dress which is important. If this was an actual haute couture dress I would say this was a home run. Overall, I think you did good thanks to this photo being stunning.
Jensen: wowzers!!!!!
Joan: I appreciate that you did a haute couture shoot and kept your brand in it. Your brand is very spunky and eccentric which is what I picked up from your portfolio. The fabric on the dress is great. I wish we had more lighting on your face. I love that your pose is showcasing your dress. This isn’t my favorite from the other photos I have seen this round. But it is not the worst. Good job!
Shraddha: I'm not a big fan of the angle, but I think this is a very unique choice from you. Well this couture really defined you. Very quirky and odd. I love the hat and also your expression the most this week. Great job, P
Emma: It's not my favourite look from you. The dress kind of reminds me of fungus. It stays true to you, 100%, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I think you need to work it more, and find the right pose. By the way, you look gorgeous with black hair.
